Sonic explorations collective invites you to an inaugural dub soundscapes event in Dim. Sonic Explorations is a platform on the mission of modern tonal art exploration at the intersection of visual, auditory and virtual experiences. Focusing on exploring, rather than consuming, SE strives to redefine the boundaries of contemporary art and sound experiences, both through physical events as well as through it’s upcoming Web3 native, artist owned platform designed for musical discovery and empowerment of musicians.

Hailing from New Zealand, Misled Convoy, also known as Michael Hodgson, stands out as a distinctive experimental artist who masterfully weaves genres and sounds. Beyond his renowned contributions as one half of Pitch Black, Hodgson’s prowess as a musician and producer is evident in his dynamic remixes and original creations. In his work, which starts with the experimental electronic band Tinnitus back in 1988, he has brilliantly reimagined tracks by artists such as left coast legend Bluetech, dub connoisseur SUBSET, Disasteradio’s intriguing side project Eyeliner, David Asher’s fresh Dabtronic endeavor, innovative rebels 3Head, Echo Chamber’s LQ and others. His diverse production styles shine brightly in his releases, where he effortlessly takes familiar tracks, molding them with his unique sonic touch, turning the recognizable into uncanny auditory delights. His albums traverse various musical landscapes, ranging from breakbeats to bass music, and dub techno to industrial ambience, all meticulously crafted with layers of dub effects, delay, and reverb.

The Telescope Jam is a project joining artists together in a jazz-like improvisation act of live electronic music generation. It’s a collaboration between LateNightFusion, Stenik, Knower & Aleatoric, who all have diverse backgrounds in various musical forms and genres, from rock, ambient to techno, house and trance. Telescope Jam explores fusions of psychedelic, ambient, dub and techno, creating music live in the moment and synergising together by welcoming artists in unique jams.

The latest project of local Belgrade technologist Branimir Rakic (founder of Sonic Explorations, formerly part of Eastbound, founder of Pulseone.org and Iskljucise collective), Aleatoric aims at “exploring the aleatory of sonic performance”. Inspired by theories of Stockhausen and 90s trance, dub and psymbient, Aleatoric is meant to be a “shapeshifting band of many, with a constant in one”, allowing collaborations through live performances and introducing controlled chance in the creative process.
